2021 Hand Crafted Sangiovese

Hand Crafted

Langhorne Creek

Story: The name Sangiovese come form a Latin term meaning 'the blood of Jove', fueling theories it has been around since Roman times. It is best know as the main grape in Tuscany's Chianti wine region.

Vintage:  2021 will be one for the record books in more than one way but as far as vineyards across South Australia are concerned it was near perfect. Higher than average rainfall over winter allowed vines to produce good canopy and the cool – dry summer gave us beautiful even ripening conditions. This slow ripening allows great flavour development and retention of natural acidity.

Nose: The nose is beautifully vibrant with enticing aromas of red currant supported by hints of coffee, spice and dried herbs.

Palate: The palate is medium body with great depth of flavor. Primary flavors of fresh cherries and raspberries, oregano, thyme and dried roses.

Food Pairings: Try this wine with veal saltimbocca with prosciutto and sage.

Cellaring: Drink now to 2029
