In 1980, Geoff left the family company, Thomas Hardy & Sons, to make his own way in the Australian wine world. Today, Wines by Geoff Hardy is made up of three South Australian wineries founded by Geoff - Pertaringa in McLaren Vale, K1 by Geoff Hardy in the Adelaide Hills and Hand Crafted by Geoff Hardy / GMH sourced from a variety of premium regions across South Australia.

The GMH brand name reflects Geoff's initials and was originally made for the Canadian export market. Today, the wines are exported to several countries and also sold domestically.

The GMH wines might be expressions of a single vineyard or regional blends, and are all made from premium fruit from sustainably managed vineyards around South Australia.

As well as single varieties, the GMH label also offers wine blends similar to those produced in the old world, including the Bordeaux-style ‘Meritage’ blends.

In 2012 and 2014, Winestate Magazine named Wines by Geoff Hardy as its Australian Winery of the Year. Australia’s most prominent wine writer, James Halliday, has also rated Wines by Geoff Hardy as a 5 red star winery, a top rating only awarded to 10% of wineries in his Wine Companion.

In keeping with the Hardy tradition of innovation, generosity and a love of the Australian terroir, we’re proud to offer you our GMH range of wines.

The GMH label represents wines made from parcels of hand-selected, premium fruit from sustainably managed vineyards around South Australia.

The wines may be expressions of a single vineyard or regional blends, and are all excellent examples of dynamic South Australian viticulture and winemaking.
