Brand Info Shortly after leaving the family company in 1980, Geoff Hardy established Pertaringa, which has since continued to produce some of McLaren Vale's finest wines. The name Pertaringa means 'belonging to the hills' and originates from the local Kaurna indigenous language.

Story  Family owned and operated, Pertaringa has branched out from its McLaren Vale roots to explore the uniqueness and diversity of South Australia’s iconic wine growing regions. Shiraz is pretty much synonymous with McLaren Vale and we didn’t need to travel far to find this classic Shiraz from our own backyard.

Vintage Early winter in 2014 was wetter than usual and the period from August to early January was very dry with above average temperatures. Following some rain and milder temperatures in January, the 2015 harvest started later that month and was quite condensed, resulting in some fabulous white and red wines.

Nose The nose is complex with seductive aromas of black cherries, plums and pepper.

Palate The aromas continue on the velvety and smooth palate, followed by soft and powdery tannins.

Food Pairings Try this wine with a hearty beef stew or simply a steak and veggies on the barbeque.
