Brand Info Shortly after leaving the family company in 1980, Geoff Hardy established Pertaringa, which has since continued to produce some of McLaren Vale's finest wines. The name Pertaringa means 'belonging to the hills' and originates from the local Kaurna indigenous language.

Story They say that a parent doesn’t have a favourite child, but Cabernet Sauvignon has always secretly been one of ours!

Vintage The 2016 vintage was in general very mild with low rainfall. The lack of rain looked like it would result in a quick harvest, but a big downpour in early February made sure the vintage was more evenly spread out. The yields were up on the couple of previous years and the quality is looking great.

Nose The nose displays beautifully complex notes of plums, blackberries and cassis with hints of violets.

Palate The palate is soft and youthful with black fruits and chocolate mint, complemented by a well-integrated tannin structure.

Food Pairings This is the perfect wine for a lamb on the spit or any other meaty main course!
