Brand Info In 1986, Geoff Hardy finally found the ideal location for producing cool climate award-winning wines in the Adelaide Hills. This vineyard later became known as the K1 by Geoff Hardy vineyard since this unique site was the first commercial planting of vines in the Kuitpo region.

Story  Planted in the ancient soils of the K1 Vineyard, Gruner Veltliner has found a new home in the cool southern Adelaide Hills where it produces exceptional white wines that capture both the old-world essence of Austria and the modern vibrancy and clarity of Australia.

Vintage Spring and summer were cooler than normal with above average rainfall and the 2017 vintage happened much later than usual. The combination of those factors and dry weather for most of the harvest resulted in higher yields and excellent quality across regions.

Nose The nose offers mineral notes and elegant aromas of peach blossom and pear with subtle spice.

Palate The palate is clean and crisp with aromas of green apple, citrus blossom and white pepper, complemented by steely acidity.

Food Pairings Known for its lingering finish, this wine works really well with pea and mint arancini topped with shaved grana padano.
