Brand Info After starting up Pertaringa in McLaren Vale and K1 in the Adelaide Hills, Geoff established Hand Crafted by Geoff Hardy in 2004. Always a passionate and innovative viticulturist, Geoff's Hand Crafted brand offers one of the broadest and most exciting ranges of alternative and emerging varieties in Australia.

Story Originally from south-western France, Tannat produces powerful and full-bodied red wines.

Vintage The 2016 vintage was in general very mild with low rainfall. The lack of rain looked like it would result in a quick harvest, but a big downpour in early February made sure the vintage was more evenly spread out. The yields were up on the couple of previous years and the quality is looking great.

Nose The nose offers soft, attractive aromas of ripe berries with a hint of dried herbs.

Palate The palate delivers a big mouthful of flavour with masses of blackberries and mulberries, followed by a long, lingering and tight finish.

Food Pairings This wine works exceptionally well with Argentinian grilled beef ribs.
