Brand Info The GMH brand name reflects Geoff's initials and was originally made for the Canadian export market, but is today exported to several countries and also sold domestically. The GMH wines might be expressions of a single vineyard or regional blends, and are all made from premium fruit from (sustainably managed) vineyards around South Australia.

Story  Meritage is an international term for a Bordeaux blend. This Meritage is made from three of the red varieties grown in the Bordeaux region of France: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.

Vintage The 2016 vintage was in general very mild with low rainfall. The lack of rain looked like it would result in a quick harvest, but a big downpour in early February made sure the vintage was more evenly spread out. The yields were up on the couple of previous years and the quality is looking great.

Nose The nose offers rich aromas of dark berries, plums, mint and dark chocolate.

Palate The palate is beautifully rich and soft with plums, cherries and notes of cassis, followed by a well-structured and long finish.

Food Pairings Try this wine with a herb-crusted roast leg of lamb and steamed kipfler potatoes.
