Story: The Middle Hill Shiraz is sourced from the middle hill of the K1 vineyard, a picturesque sandstone ridge producing elegant, spicy, cool climate style Shiraz.
Vintage: Spring and summer were cooler than normal with above average rainfall and the 2017 vintage happened much later than usual. The combination of those factors and dry weather for most of the harvest resulted in higher yields and excellent quality across regions.
Nose: The nose offers aromas of plums and red cherries with additional spicy notes of cloves and white pepper.
Palate: The palate is beautifully well-balanced with plums, spice and a hint of apricot, complemented by a silky mouth feel and well integrated tannins.
Food Pairings: The Middle Hill Shiraz is an easy drinking, food friendly and well balanced Shiraz. Try it with dishes such as caramelised pork belly with sticky rice and Asian greens.
Oak Maturation: 25% new French oak for 18 months.
Cellaring: Drink now or to 2023
