Story: The ox is the second of all the zodiac animals and is seen as a sign of honesty and endurance. Shiraz is synonymous with Australia and this Year of the Ox Shiraz has been sourced from quality South Australian vineyards.
Vintage: The 2019 growing season started with mild weather and below average rainfall. Some late spring rain provided a bit of relief from the dry conditions. A heatwave in January was luckily too early in the ripening cycle to cause any damage to the fruit. This was followed by a very mild and dry finish to the vintage, allowing good hang time and flavour development to the smaller than average crop.
Nose: The nose shows an abundance of rich fruit with notes of plums, blackberries, cherries and spice.
Palate: The palate is youthful and vibrant with plums, and cherries, followed by a touch of spice and soft tannins.
Pairing: This Shiraz is the perfect wine for any time of the year – from summer barbeques to lazy winter nights in front of the fire!
Cellaring: Drink now to 2027
