Brand Info Shortly after leaving the family company in 1980, Geoff Hardy established Pertaringa, which has since continued to produce some of McLaren Vale's finest wines. The name Pertaringa means 'belonging to the hills' and originates from the local Kaurna indigenous language.

Story The quintessential Australian red, this Pertaringa Shiraz offers everything that has made this variety famous down under.

Vintage Spring and summer were cooler than normal with above average rainfall and the 2017 vintage happened much later than usual. The combination of those factors and dry weather for most of the harvest resulted in higher yields and excellent quality across regions.

Nose The nose displays attractive aromas of red berries, cherries and plums with a faint note of spices.

Palate The palate is a vibrant with plenty of plummy flavours, accompanied by a taste of cherries and a smattering of black pepper. It finishes delightfully smooth and lingering.

Food Pairings A beautifully versatile food wine, this wine will go just as well with a summer barbeque as it would with a hearty beef stew in winter - a wine for all seasons!
